WHEN I SEE WE MADE IT THROUGH ANOTHER DAY

3:04:00 PM

My sister Marielle just got married last Friday to Melvin. They've been together for 7 years. :) We had their pre-pictorial session scheduled a month before the wedding which means we had so much time to roam around and shoot in different places. This photo session by far is the most frustrating and challenging one i've ever done. It was a 2-day shoot and on the first location of our first day, I almost gave up.

Here's why. I forced myself to use ONLY my cellphone camera. I still brought with me my dSLR camera but ended up using my phone because I felt guilty the moment i thought of giving up on a little "dare." My sister and his boyfriend was down for it anyway. I guess they trusted me too much, I had no reason to quit.

Anyway, my experience during the shoot was really different. It was hard but at the same time, easy. I had a hard time dealing with lightings and positioning because I don't get to adjust camera settings like i used to in a dSLR. Everything is fixed and final. All it lets you do is take a photo. It frustrates me not to be able to tweak focal points, shutter speed, etc but I just had to suck it all in and do my best. At the same time, it was easy because I didn't have to carry around my big 'ol camera and lenses. :)

I always say I would want to inspire with what I love doing so I hope this challenge did. If you love taking photos and creating art with it, owning a huge and bulky camera is not the first thing you need. Work with what you already have, and always do your best with it.

BTW, i own a Samsung Galaxy S3 and here are the final pictures of my first ever pre-wedding pictorial taken with a phone camera. I hope you guys like it! Enjoy the photos everyone!
